We were reflecting back over 2024 and some of our projects, going over what we loved and why. Also what we didn't love so much and how we can change it. We do this not only with processes but also with selections and where things are trending. One thing that emerged as a stand out in our selections category was the use of clear glass & dark metal in varying fixtures. It is such a great combo- especially in light fixtures. We love how it can be used in all different styles of homes and that it all still feels fresh and relevant which supports a timeless look.
This gorgeous specialty light from Laviva was the perfect spot to illuminate the corner sink in this Spanish style home. We love how it's a subtle nod to the Moroccan influence in southern Spain.
The oversized light fixture from Visual Comfort in this dining room is definitely a focal point. The metal shape and glass combo have a decidedly transitional feel and the large glass medallions at 2 levels beautifully reflect both the light from the bulbs and from when candles are lit on the table beneath it
In this remodeled traditional galley bath, not only do these budget friendly lights give a slightly industrial feel, but adding metal to the shower glass balances the room out and the result was stunning.
Circling back to our beautiful Spanish house, we again opted for a metal and glass fixture from Currey & Co in the dining room. It is similar to the other dining room one above in that it is metal and glass- but it's gracefully curved ironwork and petite scale evokes a completely different, old world feel.
